Mommy has been coaching Fifi and Lukas on writing journals for the past year, and they have gotten downright good at it; so much so that Grant's Pad will now feature their journal entries as travelogues in their own series!
For our first entry, Washington, D.C.! Original manuscript below:
Washington D.C. Trip, by Sofia Lian
Me and my family went to Washington D.C. during spring break. First, I went to Abraham Lincoln's Memorial at night. I saw Abraham Lincoln's statue there.
We also walked to Thomas Jefferson's Memorial. I didn't know that Thomas Jefferson has a statue in the memorial too.
On the third day, me and my family took a taxi to a Cherry Blossom Festival in the afternoon. we bought a dozen of crabs and watched fireworks there. The fireworks were pretty and loud.
Next, I took taxi to George Washington's house in Mount Vernon. His house looks like it is made of bricks but it is actually made of wood with paint and sand.
Last, I visited the Ford's Theater where Abraham Lincoln got shot and died. I watched a play in the theater. The play was funny because one of the men dressed and talked like a girl.
I learned a lot in Washington D.C.
