Day 6 of our Harbin Adventure, from the pen of Fifi!

12/24/2018 Ice and Snow World

On the sixth day my family and I went to Ice and Snow world. 2018 is the 20th year that Harbin hosted the Ice and Snow World.

20 years of ice festivals!

Ice and Snow world is a world with real things but made of ice and snow. For example a snow Buddha, snow ice slides, the Coliseum, castles, temples and bridges.

It was -25 degrees. We got there in the morning. My brother became sick. So, my mommy took him to the nurse until my dad and I told my mom to watch a show. There were dancing performances, trampolinings, and contortionisms.

Quite a large scale show! Great value as part of admission to the theme park!

After the show it was night time. All the colorful lights in the ice light up. It was beautiful.

To give a sense of scale...

Me and my daddy were waiting in line for a ride. While my dad was in line I played on the ice slide.

My brother and my mom went to eat dinner in a restaurant. They ate dumplings. When me and my dad got into the ride, we gave our sled to a police officer who will keep it for us during the ride. After the ride, we got our sled and went to eat dinner with my mommy and brother. I was so dizzy because of the ride. Then we went back into the hotel.

The Series Continues - Day 5 at Volga Manor!

12/23/2018 Volga Manor

On the fifth day, my family and I went to Volga Manor. We bout 2 tickets. My brother and I didn't need tickets because we were shorter than 1.2 meters.

My brother was mad because my mom didn't let him buy the snowball scooper. So, a lady let us borrow a sled for the day, then my brother was happy.

We walked to an art museum and admired all the art.

Then, we walked to a tire slide. I sat in a tire with my mommy while my brother sat in a tire with my daddy. We slid down the slide. It was so fun that we wanted to do it again.

We went to a place where they made vodka. We drank vodka and ate sandwiches (Note to reader - the kids did NOT drink vodka...). The vodka was in a special ice cup.

Finally we went to see the Russian show. It was a different Russian show from the one we were looking for yesterday. At the end of the show, we took pictures with a Russian elf.

Snow

The thid day, we went to Polarland. I saw polar bears, belugas performing a show, fish, and a walrus and sea lion show. The belugas were performing with two women. The walrus first performed in the Walrus and sea lion show. The walrus communicated with people. And the sea lions swam very fast and jumped very high.

It snowed on Day 3!

Something we don't see every day - the "heart of the sea"

I've never actually seen polar bears before. The cage was a little depressing but it was still cool to see polar bears up close!

After that, we went out of Polarland and played with snow for a while. We sat on the bus for hours to go home because we were stuck in traffic.

Then, we went home.

12/22/2018

Weather OK

On the fourth day, my family and I tried to find the Russian show. We found the old Russian theater, but it was closed. Then, my mommy and my daddy found out that they moved to another place. We didn't go to the new Russian show because we didn't know where it was and it was too late.

So, instead of going to the new Russian show, we walked across the Songjiang river. My mom was very scared to walk on the ice because when you fall through the ice you'll never come out and you will die.

My dad fell on the ice with my brother and my brother screamed and crawled to the ice that was covered in snow because he thought that part was regular land.

That evening, me, my dad and my brother made tiny snowmen near the Sophia Church.

I never knew it was so hard to make snowmen...
